This romantic and peaceful pod rental is located along the rocky shoreline in the town of Bonavista, Newfoundland. The pod is a few minutes away from pristine beaches and rugged coastline trails, and also only a few minutes walk to downtown Bonavista.  The pod can accommodate up to two guests, perfect for solo adventurers or couples who want a unique retreat into nature.

The pod is eco-friendly and lit by solar lights. Each pod features a queen bed and high-quality linens. Guests can feel the intensity of the sun and the winds during the day and be amazed by the dark, starry sky while snuggled up in bed. The eco-pod rentals are small and intimate but hugely comfortable and have been built with a wooden exterior and large windows minimizing its impact on the landscape.

A short walkway behind the pod leads to the main house where guests have access to many modern amenities. This separate building is a restored 'first generation home'. Sometimes referred to as a settlers house, this type of home was built most frequently from 1835-1910. We’ve dated this home to approximately 1835. The main house has washroom facilities with a shower, a sink, and a toilet. Each guest will receive a key to their own private bath. Towels and toiletries are provided. Other amenities include electricity, running water, on-site parking, and wifi access (wifi does not reach the pods). Guests  can cook their own breakfast in the kitchen, and choose to dine inside at a dining table or outside around a picnic table. The kitchen includes a sink, a stove, mircowave, refrigerator, dishes, and cooking utensils.

After a day spent exploring Bonavista, guests can relax outside on a couple of lounge chairs and take the the beautiful view. In the evenings, guests can roast marshmallows and stargaze around a fire pit.

A wonderful Weekend away.

Myself and my partner discovered this gem online and was very excited to give it a go! We arrived on the designated check in time and after getting our keys we got the first glimpse of our little " Pod" or home for the next three days. The Pod and shearing house was very clean, simple yet well thought out; high quality Linens, Towels and Pillows all helped make everything very comfortable . We were very pleased by the thought put into the bathroom toiletries provided; all products where made locally by " East Coast Glow" which include Soap made by iceberg water and sourced locally! Wifi was available at our convenience. Overall I would recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a little adventure! We were very lucky to take in some great sunsets from the comfort of our own pod. As well they offer wood and campfire pits if you want to enjoy an ocean side fire! All the little details and comforts have been looked after. Unfortunately dude to Covid-19 and pandemic restrictions the Self use kitchen wasn't available, we where given a list of restaurants & Cafe's in the area. We give the Glamping Grounds a five start rating, The place is definitely worth checking out and would recommend to Hikers or any other " Staycation" enthusiast.

1st Glamping Experience

We braved the cold October weather to try glamping for the first time. It was a wonderful experience! With COVID, it took a little more preparation packing but was worth the extra effort. It was a good idea taking mugs and lots of tea to keep you warm. The pod was comfortable and we slept so well. We needed to ask for an extra blanket on one of the really cold nights, but the service was great. The main house was warm and cozy with a fully equipped bathroom. The location is walking distance to shops and restaurants, but also felt quiet and remote with a spectacular view. We we definitely be back again.

Awesome stay

Had a very tranquil stay at pod 1. So quiet only the sounds of the pounding sea upon the rocks loved it. Went to supper at Miffliins tea room which was awesome best seafood chowder and fish cakes we have tasted . Loved the pod , had a fire in outdoor fir pit it was wonderful St but we kept fire small loved the scenery . Will definitely do it again. The bathroom was in a building really close not an issue at all fior us . They were really clean and lovely shampoo /conditioner soaps from east coast glow !

Amazing Place to Stay

The pods offer exceptional views, high quality rooms and the main house features modernized private bathrooms. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay; listening to the waves crash, a chain saw in the distance and ending the day lighting a fire in the fire pit, it doesn’t get more Newfoundland than that. Rural NL is good for the soul. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a unique experience!

Such a lovely place and gorgeous views, the pod itself was extremely clean and such a cute set up. The main house was modern and the private bathroom was spacious and fabulous. Loved glamping!

loved every minute

Crisp linen on an incredibly comfortable bed in a very beautiful place, the pod we stayed in also had two incredible chairs that I think were made by a local craftsperson in the traditional way. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Trip of a lifetime - feeling grateful for having had the opportunity to visit Newfoundland, starting with Bonavista. The sky at night was beyond pink. I did swim in that ocean. It was cold, no pain though so i got used to it pretty quickly. My advice is that you visit and when you do, build a fire.
